Fundraising can be pretty intimidating, especially if it’s something you’ve never done before. Check out these tips and tricks as you get started fundraising, and remember you can always use your program coordinator or alumni mentor as a resource.

Share your story. Write about your connection to the cancer community and why you’re dedicating your summer to UCF’s mission. Break up your story into smaller increments and send it out in multiple emails. Include a call to action to donate.

Ask multiple times. Everyone nowadays needs a reminder here and there. Sending multiple emails or connecting through other touch points a second/third time (social media, letters, phone calls) will result in more donations.

Thank your donors. Never forget to thank your donors. Keep them updated on your progress, fundraising and training for this summer. Share with them how their contribution will make an impact on young adults facing a cancer diagnosis.
