Taylor is a freshman at Niagara University in Niagara Falls, NY. In the summer of 2014, she will be traveling with a group of college-aged students on a 42 day, 4,000+ mile run from San Francisco to Baltimore.
What is your connecton to the cancer community? My cross country/ track coach who has recently passed away, was battling cancer . Also, my friend from high school found out just days ago that she has lymphoma. During the Summer my grandmother was battling kidney cancer, I am so happy to say that I donated blood that helped saved her life. These people have touched my life. Those that have been affected and those that passed away showed me how short life can be. This 4k is really a great opportunity to give back/ fight for them and the cancer community.
Why are you running 4,000+ miles with the 4K?
I am running with the 4k for cancer this summer to run for the people who are not able or do not have the chance to. This is a way to show my support by not only physically participating but emotionally as well. This is also a great opportunity to challenge myself both physically and mentally while supporting a good cause. I am thrilled to be able to be part of such a great eventand to meet so many people.
