I am an alumnus of the Inaugural 2o11 Baltimore to Portland 4K for Cancer ride
I first heard of the 4K from fellow rider and friend Christopher Young. He mentioned that there was an event where college students bike across the country in order to raise awareness for cancer. Within minutes I knew it was something that I would forever regret not doing. I am fortunate to never have been diagnosed with cancer, but it has had an affect on my life. I will be dedicating my ride to Robert Purcell, Pamela Mansfield, Kelsey Jones, Alex Borzov and all of the people that I am fortunate enough to meet in travels that are suffering directly or indirectly from cancer.
After completing the trip I continued to volunteer for the organization, which has had such a profound impact on my life. When the opportunity presented itself to run the 4k I jumped at it. I hope to tap into the amazing potential, which the program has.
