Matt Dexter is in his second year at UMaine. In the summer of 2014 he is traveling with a group of college students on a 42 day, 4000+ mile run from San Francisco to Baltimore.
What is your connection to the Cancer Community?
In 2008 my mother passed away after a treacherous battle with stomach cancer, which spread throughout her digestive system. At the time of the terminal diagnosis I was 13, and did not understand what was going on. This disease reformed not only my life but also many friends, families and other loved ones who were close to my mother. Sadly, the occurrence of stories like mine are far to frequent!
Why are you traveling over 4000 miles this summer with the 4K?
I am running this summer to educate and support the cancer community. To fight for an effective treatment. For my mother, neighbors, friends, family, and the world. To prevent another diagnosis to be made.
This needs to be stopped so why not make a difference today! Please support my team and I!
