What is your connection to the Cancer Community?
The first time I ever heard about cancer was when I was younger and it was when my Grandpa passed away, there have been three people in my life that have been diagnosed with Cancer in the last year. One is a family friend that was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Another is the parent of children that I baby sit for, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Last but definitely not least is a friend that I have grown up with. He was diagnosed with cancer and is currently going through treatment. My friend is a college athlete with a lot of goals ahead of him that I have no doubt of him reaching, but his courage and strength to fight has motivated me to participate in the 4k for Cancer.
Why are you traveling over 4000 miles this summer with the 4K?
I have always wanted to travel the united states, but not may people experience all the amazing sites and scenes driving past it in a car. Running the 4k for cancer will give me the opportunity to reallllly experience the United States while helping out for a great cause. I am looking forward to meeting a lot of new people that are all motivated for similar reasons, to help the ones we love. The most important reason for why I am running across the country is to motivate the ones I love to keep fighting and to never give up. This journey is more important that just seeing America it is about fighting for the people closest to us that are going though such a hard time fighting for their life.
