2012 Baltimore to Portland

2012 marks our 11th year of cycling across the America in the fight against cancer and the third year of our Baltimore to Portland ride. This 70 day, 4400 mile ride follows parts of the traditional leg one route of our previous 10 4K rides: after leaving Baltimore’s Inner Harbor we head north to southern Pennsylvania where we strike west through Ohio. The ride continues through Indiana and curls up to Chicago, IL where the riders meet with the Seattle ride.  From the Windy City riders travel through Iowa, and Nebraska before landing in Boulder, CO where we meet up with our San Francisco ride for the 4th of July. From Boulder, the route takes a distinctive northern turn into Wyoming’s Teton National Park. We then continue west again through Idaho and into Oregon.

Route highlights include cycling to the Great Lakes, through the Tetons, to Yellowstone National Park, to Craters of the Moon National Monument, to the Painted Hills of Oregon, the Willamette Valley, and Cannon Beach.
