Another memorable day was the day we spent in Elroy, Wisconsin. After we were stuffed from a wonderful meal, our host told us that we needed to check out the town fair and the horse pull. We were so excited to hear that there was a fair and I don’t think any of us new what a horse pull was so we were ready for something new. To quickly explain the horse pull, it consisted of a pair of horse dragging a truck with thousands of pounds on it as far as they can. These horses were massive! When the horse pull was over, we were lucky enough to get to go to the trailers and pet the horses. The horses were over 2500 pounds- easily the biggest things I have ever petted. After petting the horses for a little while, the owner came over and asked me if I wanted to walk the horse over to a grass field to let it eat. Although frightened, I jumped on the opportunity and walked this massive horse to the field. It was quite an experience to control something so gigantic. My grandfather has always told me he likes the smell of a horses nose, so I worked up enough courage to come an inch from the large head of the horse and take a whiff and to my surprise the smell was pleasant- its really hard to describe what it smelled like though. One local we talked said no one ever forgets their first horse pull experience and I don’t think ill be an exception.
