at the pacific, finally! really unbelievable to be here, i am so used to the idea of travelling, working towards some far off goal, that its hard to realize that we’ve really made it! And I’m not ready for the trip to be over — yesterday, coming over the cascades, on our last ninety-five mile day, I was sad to think that I didn’t know the next time I’d have such a long day on the bike. Especially since all summer the answer was, sometimes overwhelmingly, tomorrow! But the last few days were really good. My mom flew out to Washington to see me finish, and she joined us to ride over the Cascades, from Mazama to Anacortes. This whole summer, every ride, has been for her, so it was really something special to do those last two rides with her.
