Bighorn Bluegrass

July 10, 2012 | Day 43

Gillette to Buffalo with Molly, Ella and Ray today. Slow day… Molly and I exchanged life stories and passed the day chatting as we rode along one main road for most the day.

In Buffalo a handful of us caught the last couple bands at the Bighorn Mountain music festival… A weekend long bluegrass fest which was wrapping up as it was late Sunday afternoon. They let us in for free in exchange for helping clean up a bit at the close.

The closing band happened to be Northern Departure- a crew from the Seattle area turns out… Very cool… They are holding their own bluegrass festival in Seattle the weekend we get there… Hope to connect with them again.

At the festival our jigging attracted the attention of a lovely couple who works a Mexican food cart… Upon hearing of our cause they donated meals to us which were excellent. After putting away tables and chairs and chatting with festival folk we biked down to the city pool for a dip before heading back to the church to meet as a team.

Changed out the tire I tore through earlier in the day and hung out on the porch with people before heading to bed… Psyched to climb up some mountains tomorrow!
